5 Simple Steps to a Great Back to Work Wardrobe
Coming out of an extended lockdown, the thought of being with people and working with them in person thrills me.
My initial thoughts are :
who I will spend time with,
when can I cut my hair and I want to
updating my wardrobe.
My wardrobe has not been “front of my mind”, and now it is!
Here are my FIVE SIMPLE STEPS to help you build a GREAT get back to work WARDROBE.
MAKE A PLAN
REVIEW WHAT I HAVE
This means opening your closet and assessing what clothing you already own.
Consider what fits your personality, body structure, colouring, lifestyle as well as your industry.
Now is the perfect time to get rid of the clothes you don’t like and have not worn for the last 18 months.
DECIDE WHAT I NEED – IDENTIFY THE GAPS
What you need will be based on what you have, and how many days a week you will be in the office versus working from home.
Be specific about what you need, e.g. navy jacket, coral top, black shoes
SELECT A COLOUR PALETTE
Creating a conscious colour palette will mean your clothes will mix and match.
e.g. I suggest a base colour for the more formal or tailored items and accent colours for tops and shirts.
Be conscious of selecting colours that flatter your complexion and leave you looking attractive and credible.
GET CLEAR ON ON MY PERSONAL STYLE
In the last 18 months, fashion has morphed.
The trick with fashion is knowing what to pick and choose to feel like yourself, to be current and use your new purchases to update what you already have.

BUDGET
Create a realistic budget before you leave the house.
Investing 5-10% of your income is not unrealistic.
When revamping the wardrobe, invest in quality versus quantity.
Natural fibres which last longer and are more comfortable are more expensive.
Ethically produced items also cost more.
SHOPPING
Do your research and comparison before you spend.
Make a targeted list of stores or labels that will allow you to fulfil your needs concerning the items’ colours, style, budget, and quality appropriate for you.
