The key to good style is knowing who you are and what sort of trends you can adopt as they emerge in fashion.

Here is a list of the coming trends with references to the ARCHETYPES so that you can be confident about which ones to choose.

Statement pants

Brilliant if you have a nice butt and long legs.

Think sophisticated pyjama pants with loud prints and wide legs or printed flared jeans. 

Be bold with this; there is no halfway with this trend.

Perfect for the bohemian, gypsy, diva, and gamine

A huntswoman, classic and princess could try a smaller scale pattern.

Boyfriend shirts

Are an oversized shirt that you may have borrowed from your “boyfriend”.

Try one out in candy stripes or a plain bold colour.

These oversized shirts work well worn over trousers with a french tuck to give you some definition at the waist.

These are best on the diva, classic, huntswoman, adventurer, bohemian and gypsy.

Open backs

This is a bold fashion trend and is terrific for a hot night or an evening event.

And it is brilliant if you have a smaller bust and want to show off your shoulders and back.

Try a crisscross lacing, a plunging draped style or a narrow slit. This look can be elegant and striking.

Perfect for the diva, and adventurer with striking shoulders as well as the delicate princess.

Substantial or chunky jewellery

The objective here is to make a statement that includes large scale or bold necklaces, rings, and bracelets.

Current trends include beads, pearl necklaces as well as gemstone rings.

Chunky styles are best on the diva, adventurer, gypsy, bohemian and romantic.

Midsize substantial pieces will work for the classic, huntswoman and gamine

If you have fine or delicate features like a princess try wearing multiple pieces of small scale items together as a way to keep your look current.

The white sneaker has become a classic, comfortable run around shoe.

For a modern take, try a coloured version or a chunky bold trainer.

Cross-body bags

This practical trend has been evolving for a while. Best on those with a mid-size /smaller bust; otherwise, you run the risk of looking sliced in half

Ideally, select a bag with multiple or removable straps, e.g. a long chain and chainless option, which you could double up as a clutch bag.

Moderate size bags work best when adopting this trend.

Only work if you and the tee are funky – not frumpy.

Perfect for the gamine, diva, gypsy, adventuring princess, bohemian and classic diva.  Think rock-chick, and you will get the look. This trend is best if you have a medium to long torso.  Team it up with jeans and sneakers for the coming season.

Baseball caps

Have moved from sportswear to streetwear.

Keep it colourful and fun.

Personally, I prefer less “branded” baseball caps

Ideal for the gamine, adventurer, and diva but be worn by a classic.
